Some may call it coincidence, but from Elliott Wave perspective it is just another sign of extreme optimism in the market. When big Hollywood productions about Wall Street are released, devastating stock market crashes follow. The first chart below shows our long term forecast on DJIA. On the second one you can see where the four major Wall Street titles are placed. “Wall Street” is followed by the crash of 1987, “Boiler Room” emerged at the peak in 2000, “Wall Street 2” was filmed during the worst two years in the market’s modern history 2007-2009. Now, in 2014, with DJIA at all time high, we have another blockbuster on the subject – “The Wolf of Wall Street”. Will history repeat itself once again?
